Rafting the Rio Cahabon

Experience a once in a lifetime adventure amongst the natural beauty of Guatemala ('place of many trees').

Our rafting expedition down the Lanquin and Cahabon rivers take us through the subtropical jungle of Guatemala.  Marvel at the local Amazon parrots whilst navigating some of the rivers largest and most exciting rapids.  These challenging rafting sections are broken up perfectly by pristine side creeks and pools perfect for swimming.

After a thoroughly invigorating 4 days rafting, we then head by land to Flores, stopping en-route to the Castillo de San Flipe (where you will have the opportunity to bungee jump) and also explore the high jungle canopy walk where we may see spider monkeys among other jungle animals and birds.

Our adventure then takes us by boat to the intriguing ruins of Ceibal, outstanding carvings which are surrounded by a forest off huge Ceiba trees.

Polar Bears in Greenland
Tikal Temple
Our last stop in Guatemala is to the most impressive of all the ancient Mayan cities - Tikal and the lost world.

We have the park largely to ourselves in the afternoons as we stay overnight in the lodge located in the park.

The pyramid temples tower up to 65m above the jungle floor and you will be astonished by the myriad of flora and fauna in this peaceful timeless rainforest.

After all these activities, we head to Ambergris Caye for relaxation on this beautiful tropical island.

Here you will be able to enjoy the Belize barrier reef at your leisure independently.  This is the second largest barrier reef in the world and has an endless mountain range of dramatic walls and undulating coral ridges blessed with calm waters and hundreds of coral pinnacles and patch coral heads, perfect to enjoy by snorkelling or diving.  Or, if you prefer, simply sunbathing on the white sandy beaches.
