Mount Rinjani |
Mount Rinjani lays within the boundaries of
the Gunung Rinjani National Park, a 40,000 hectare reserve. The
summit reaches a heady 3726m above sea level. The park has a rich
variety of plants and animals, including the rare black Ebony leaf monkey,
the long tailed grey macaque, ruda deer and porcupine as well as a variety
of colour birds.
The climb to the rim of the volcano is
extremely hard and a reasonable level of fitness is needed, however the
trek is truly rewarding.
|
|
At the end of the trek we will head to
the coast, relaxing on the beach and snorkelling in the crystal blue
waters.
For every client booked on the
Rinjani expedition, a warm and water proof jacket will be donated to the
Clothing Bank in Lombok. This bank is currently being established
but when it is running it will supply all Porters with much needed warm
clothing.
